The other day, I was told by San Francisco tour guide about the incident that happened on the Lombard Street, known as the crookedest street in the whole world.
One day a couple who were getting married got into a stretched limo and offered $100 tip if he would drive down the Lombard Street. The limo driver took up on the offer thinking he could do it. He, pulled the first corner off and barely got through the second corner before he got stuck. And he was stuck for good… not able to go forward or backward.
There were no way to get this limo out but by lifting it on the air. Thus, city had to hire a large crane to lift the limo out off the street which caused thousands of taxpayer’s $$.
The driver was fired and lost his “special license” from this. He was no longer able to drive for any tourist or limo company. And the couple… missed their wedding!
I am pretty sure that the limo driver thought he could pull it off. All it takes is a small pride. Proverb 16:18 says, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall”.
Let’s humble ourselves before the Lord as we seek His grace and mercy each day.
Have a blessed week!
