Another horrifying shooting in Umpqua Community College on Oct. 1st of this year and my heart goes out to all the victims and their families.
This time, according to several witnesses, the gun man, Chris Harper-Mercer, seems to single out Christians. Before shooting, he asked whether they were Christian or not. If so, he shot in the head saying that you will be meeting God in one second. If the answer was no or no answer, he shot them on a leg or somewhere in the body.
To those who said, “I am” to the question, “Are you a Christian?”, THANK YOU! I am not sure if I will have enough courage to say that while waiting for my turn knowing the ones before me were shot on his/her head. THANK YOU for not hesitating or renouncing like Peter. THANK YOU for walking the walk!
Lord, help those who were directly effected by this tragedy. Also help believers to walk the walk even in difficult situations we face in life. THANK YOU for the courage, faith, and hope of believers who died in Umpqua Community College.
