After living at this place (the house in the picture) for 14+ years, we had to move. As I was taking this picture for the last time before handing my key over to the landlord, I got a bit emotional. A flood of God’s grace and faithfulness was reminded. God had given so many wonderful memories in this place as we were raising our children and serving the Lord.
However, there are some lessons that God had revealed to me throughout the whole process. Let me just quickly list some of them and hopefully the list will be a blessing to you as well:
- Don’t hold unto things too hard and too much, when you have to let go of them, it will be painful (I guarantee you will have to let go of them sooner or later);
- Live a simple life. It is easier in many ways (definitely when it comes to moving);
- My home is not the building and stuffs inside but the place where my love ones and I live, so the size and quality of “stuffs” are not as important;
- Don’t focus on upgrading visible things more than investing into eternal things;
- I am a pilgrim on this earth. No matter where I live, it is NOT a permanent place for me. My ultimate and the permanent place is in heaven with the Lord; and
- Though I had a good landlord, he wasn’t perfect and I wasn’t a perfect tenant. I will be in a perfect relationship with my “land”Lord, Savior and Father in heaven.
I am so grateful for God’s faithfulness. As we were packing, there were tons of reminders of His blessings and provisions. God is good!
Lord, thank you! Now, we look forward to more of your blessings in the new place you have provided. ^_^
Have a wonderful and blessed week!
